CLASS DESCRIPTION
The art program encourages each child's individuality. It is based on process-oriented projects and encouraging self-expression. The art program is also sensorial in that children use different mediums and objects to create. The arts are a form of communication. In addition, drawing and painting develops fine motor and pre-writing skills. Art is integrated into the weekly themes and topics of the class as well as being a "free" activity. Several areas that are stressed are use of different medium (paint, clay, crayons, glue, etc.), three-dimensional creations, "Free" painting and drawing, and use of color.
