CLASS DESCRIPTION In Grades 2, students will continue to develop the ability to communicate about their immediate environment and interests through visual images. They will learn to use a variety of art tools, materials, and techniques, and will identify elements of design (such as complementary colors, different types of lines, shapes, symmetry and asymmetry, and texture) and begin to describe how the elements are used by artists. Intended projects include: self-portrait, paper mosaic, water color painting, balloon sculpture, clay sculpture, making of Canada map, paper mache, recycled paper clay sculpture, and The Terry Fox Run poster. |
