CLASS DESCRIPTION Students in Grade 7 will demonstrate proficiency in some art forms, and will be expected to apply the knowledge and skills learned in their study of the arts as they analyze art works representing various styles and different historical periods. Each project is a focus on the individual student including self-portraits, initial sculptures and jewell making. The students are encouraged to make connections, investigate different styles and to take risks in their work. They work individually and in groups throughout the year. They will continue to learn correct art terminologies and the use Developmental Workbook as a part of requirements for MYP implementation. Intended projects include self-portrait without your face, paper mache Pinata, watercolor painting, acrylic painting, oil painting, wood cut printing, jewell making, clay sculpture, dream catcher, glass mosaic, cardboard sculpture, T-shirt painting, and The Terry Fox Run poster. |
