CLASS DESCRIPTION
In Grade 3, students will describe and demonstrate how the elements can be used to create works of art to communicate thoughts and feelings. They will learn to use a variety of art tools, materials, and techniques, and will identify elements of design (such as warm and cool colors, variety of lines, fore ground, middle ground, and background, symmetry and asymmetry, and texture) and begin to describe how the elements are used by artists. Intended projects include self-portrait, paper mache Pinata, watercolor painting, clay sculpture, balloon sculpture, paper mosaic, cardboard sculpture, and The Terry Fox Run poster.
