Last weekend of every month in Kensington is so much fan! The streets are closed for pedestrians filled with festivities to wonder about and it makes this neighbourhood so unique … and that’s where my friend Sang Kim resides. Sang is like a big brother to me even though I have known him not so long. We seem to know the same people from variety of different communities. “Woody Allen ate my Kimchi,” is his latest book, long awaited by many of his fans … I have read some excerpts of the book at NOTES OF A NATIVE SPEAKER, Sang’s personal blog. By reading through his blog I found out that he is also a good chef (well, for many people he is known as a successful figure in the restaurant world). His new book is such a significant contribution stuffed with the behind the scene episodes from Toronto’s culinary culture history … I feel so grateful for him archiving Toronto’s multicultural!!
It was fun helping him to skew his BBQ items(can’t even remember how many … reminded me of my sushi chef years in New York … preparing shrimps for four straight hours every week, and it was 30 seconds per shrimp … I could not see my own hands because it was super fast move!! ) … and playing with his “Princes Kiki” was also so much fun(but treat your servant more gently, your majesty, please!! ).
It was such a nice Sunday afternoon meeting with his good friends … one of them was Diana Tso, a talented playwright whose theatre production, Red Snow will be premiered in January 12 -28, 2012 presented at Theatre Passe Muraille Mainspace.
