An established music prayer icon, Keiji Haino performed at Toronto’s Garrison’s on Saturday, June 11 2011. I was his interpreter during his stay. He is quite a character, with a distinct style from head to toe and the way he talks. He went over and over with the earplug issue. He claims that earplugs should not be worn by his audiences because it will only lose the point of why he creates loud sound. They should try to really hear without earplugs and evolve their ears to match the level of his prayer.
